The Coronation of King Charles III
The coronation of King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May at Westminster Abbey. During the Ceremony the King will be crowned alongside Camilla the Queen Consort.
Hunnington Parish Council is liaising with Romsley Parish Council and other local groups with a view to holding a “Picnic in the Park” type event on Sunday 7th May. Residents (plus family and friends) are invited to bring their own picnic (including alcohol) to Romsley Recreation Ground between 2-6pm. As an alternative a special aftern0on tea box will be available to buy and pre order instead.
The plan is to have a family friendley DJ for the afternnoon and hopefully a tribute act to close the aftern0on plus a few childrens rides and a bouncy castle. Watch this space for updates!
Bluebird Site Update
The demolition phase is largely completed and construction work will begin early March. Two separate contractors are involved – Malvern Homes will be converting the Administration and Welfare buildings into apartments, while Bellway Homes will be building the 89 houses behind them.
Additional detailed documents such as the road plan have been added to the Bromsgrove Planning Portal under the original reference 19/00592/FUL and the link to the planning portal is here. Discussions are still ongoing between the contractors and Bromsgrove Highways regarding traffic calming measures around the site. If residents have any concerns during construction (such as footpath access) then please do not hesitate to express your concerns to HPC via hunningtonparish@btinternet.com
