We were blessed with good weather for the Picnic in the Park – the event was well attended and everybody had a good time. We would like to thank the organisers from Romsley and Hunnington Parish Councils for a very succesful day.

Bluebird Site Update

The demolition phase is largely completed and construction work will begin early March. Two separate contractors are involved – Malvern Homes will be converting the Administration and Welfare buildings into apartments, while Bellway Homes will be building the 89 houses behind them.

Additional detailed documents such as the road plan have been added to the Bromsgrove Planning Portal under the original reference 19/00592/FUL and the link to the planning portal is here. Discussions are still ongoing between the contractors and Bromsgrove Highways regarding traffic calming measures around the site. Hunnington Parish Council (HPC) have expressed concerns and the need to have appropriate traffic calming measures and will continue to do so.

If residents have any concerns during construction (such as footpath access) then please do not hesitate to express your concerns to HPC via hunningtonparish@btinternet.com

Balmoral Garage Development (updated 9th March)

The Balmoral Garage has now relocated to a new site in Worcester and a planning application has been submitted by Kiwi for 4 detached houses to be built on the site. The application can be seen on the Bromsgrove Planning Portal using reference 22/01436/FUL and a link to the Planning Portal can be found here.

A number of residents have expressed concerns that the proposed dwellings are not in keeping with the rest of Hunnington. Hunnington Parish Council agree with this sentiment and have also submitted detailed comments. Kiwi attended the Council meeting on the 8th March and stated that they are keen to respond to local concerns. The plans have therefor been revised and will shortly be resubmitted to the Planning Portal.
